CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Fred Darel "Doil" Street, 10 Mar 2005 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Fred Darel "Doil" Street, 72, Date of Birth: 12-29-32. Our loss is heaven's gain on March 10, 2005 after a brief illness. A native of Carter County, he was the 13th child of the late Stephen and Emma Freeman Street. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Hughes Street, and by 12 older brothers and sisters. Mr. Street was retired from Roan Mountain State Park, having worked as an electrician. He was often called upon by many members of the community. They knew him as their "community electrician." Mr. Street was a member of Cove Creek Presbyterian Church, where he served many years as a youth leader and Sunday School teacher. He served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include seven step-children, many step-grandchildren, many step- great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. It was Mr. Street's request to have a graveside service, which will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, in the Carl Hughes Cemetery with Rev. Randy English officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Tennessee National Guard Funeral Honors Program. Active pallbearers will be Chris Barnett, Ronnie Street, Israel Hughes, Tommy Hughes, Tommy Street and Dana Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Roan Mountain State Park employees. A special "thank you" is extended to the attentive neighbors and friends of Mr. Street and to Pat and Donnie, members of the nursing staff of Johnson City Medical Center.
