CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Eulee Chambers Stevens, 19 Feb 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Eulee C. Stevens Mrs. Eulee Chambers Stevens, 90, Mill Pond Rd., Elizabethton, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003 in the Hillview Health Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Blaine and Flora Bowers Chambers. Mrs. Stevens was the oldest member of Valley Forge Christian Church. She was a former member of the choir and the Adult Ladies Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Stevens, August 2, 1973, and by two sisters, Hildred Chambers and Ruby Buckles. Survivors include a son, James Monroe Stevens, Jr., Elizabethton, and his fiance, Sandra Forbes, Hampton; one sister, Mrs. Blaine Jenkins, Elizabethton; one niece, Patsy Phipps, Elizabethton; three nephews, Tommy Jenkins and David Jenkins, both of Elizabethton, and Johnny Buckles, Lynchburg, Va. Seven great nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. STEVENS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Eulee Chambers Stevens, 90, Mill Pond Road, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, February 19, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. H. Clay Bailey and Mr. Jason Burchfield, ministers, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chambers Cemetery. Active pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday will be Larry Stevens, Steve Norris, Steve Lipford, Thurman Johnson, James Rouse, Tommy Jenkins, David Jenkins, and Marvin "Bucky" Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Williams, Terry Montgomery, Bill Roberts, Frank Bays, Steve Shell, Patrick Phipps, Jack Forbes, Johnny Buckles, Allen Phipps, Dr. Robert Walter, Dr. Jerry Gastineau, Dr. Harold Alison, her care givers, and her church family. Also surviving are her special friends, George Greene, Hazel Johnson, Leafie Payne, Darlie Hyder, Milburn and Francis Ellis and family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
