Swanson Mrs. Dorothy Bell Swanson, 71, 207 Jim Elliott Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Swanson was a native of Elizabethton and a daughter of the late Hobert and Margie Miller Tolley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman L. Swanson, in 1971, two sons, Jimmy and David Swanson, and by three sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Swanson was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a son, Charles Swanson, Hampton; a daughter, Margaret Mitchem, Elizabethton; a half sister, Phyllis Martin, Johnson City; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Floyd Taylor, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. These services have been entrusted to the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Hathaway-Percy SWANSON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Bell Swanson, 71, 207 Jim Elliott Road, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, March 2, 2002, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Maines officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Barbara Peters. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the Tolley Cemetery, Fairview Community. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
