Wilson Ruby Taylor Wilson, 85, of Elizabethton, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mrs. Wilson was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late John A. and Rose Grindstaff Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Wilson, in January 2005, three sisters, Blanche Taylor, Louise "Tom" Taylor and Pearl Peters; and two brothers, Herbert Taylor and O'Dell Grindstaff. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, cooking and gardening. She was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church but attended Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Wayne Stout, Elizabethton; a grandson, Michael Stout; a special granddaughter, Ruth Wood; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Erma Broyles; a sister, Mae Larimer, Watauga; and special friends, Mary Ann Lowe, Thelma Taylor, Nell Lewis and Beulah Peters. Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. D.C. Byrd, Rev. Jonas Revis and Rev. Tony Trott officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, in the Blevins Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Vaughn Taylor, Floyd Todd Lowe, Norman Taylor, Chuck Milam, Eddie Milam and Eddie Archer. Honorary pallbearers will be Gale Colbaugh, Don Swanner, Kenneth Colbaugh, Daniel Wood, Danny Garland and Pat McGinnis. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the service hour. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter, 162 Murphy Lane, at anytime. Pallbearers, family and friends will assemble at New Liberty Church at 10:50 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery. Online condolences to the Wilson family may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
