Margaret L. Thompson 





    Margaret Lillian Thompson, 99, of Elizabethton, died Monday, July 30, 

2007, at Hermitage Health Center. 





    A native of Big Stone Gap, Va., she was a daughter of the late W.M. and 

Susan Thacker Coomer. She had lived in Elizabethton for the past 71 years. 





    Mrs. Thompson was retired from the Elizabethton School System as a 

custodian at T.A. Dugger Junior High School. She was a member of Oak Street 

Baptist Church. She loved to quilt. 





    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and 

two brothers. 





    Survivors include her daughter, Doris Thompson Dickey of Bristol, Va.; two 

grandsons, Martin of Fork Mills, S.C., and Douglas of Gaithersburg, Md.; three 

great-grandsons, Jason, Ben and Matthew; three nephews, Donnie Mays of 

Elizabethton, Bill Brumitt of Johnson City and Bill Coomer of Big Stone Gap, 

Va.; and a niece, Vickie Gross of Georgia. 





    Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, 

August 1, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bob Polk officiating. 

Graveside services will be private. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made 

to Adventa Hospice (Caris), Oak Street Baptist Church or the donor's favorite 

charity.
