Helen M. Tolley 





    Helen Marie Tolley, 70, 139 Hyder Street, Hampton, went to be with the Lord 

on Sunday, December 11, 2005. 





    Mrs. Tolley was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late 

Ralph and Myrtle Birchfield McKinney. In addition to her parents, she was 

preceded in death by her husband, Paul Tolley, and two brothers, Ray McKinney 

and Jack McKinney, both of Roan Mountain. 





    Mrs. Tolley retired from East Tennessee State University after managing 

Sugar Mountain Ski Slopes Food Services. She was of the Baptist faith and will 

be greatly missed as a mother, friend and neighbor. 





    Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, R.L. and Juanita 

McKinney, Elizabethton, and Darrell Lee Tolley, of Indiana; two daughters and 

sons-in-law, Tina and Freddie Callahan, Elizabethton, and Shannon and Carlos 

Posada, Hampton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beulah and Dillard Street and 

Louise and Bob Baldwin, Roan Mountain; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and 

Joyce McKinney, Roan Mountain; and her honorary family, Donald and Lee Naille. 

Four grandsons, six granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, one great-great-

grandson and several nieces and nephews also survive. 





    Funeral services for Mrs. Tolley will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, 

December 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy English officiating. 

Music will be under the direction of Charlotte Smith. Graveside services and 

interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, at Happy Valley Memorial 

Park. Active pallbearers will be Carlos Posada, Freddie Callahan, Andrew 

McKinney, Donald Naille, Sammy Hughes, Brandon Dugger, Ralph McKinney, Tim 

McKinney, Tommy McKinney, Darrell Tolley Jr. and Cody Walsh. Honorary 

pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, Roy Street, Bob Baldwin, Dillard Street and 

Matthew McKinney. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the 

Sycamore Shoals Hospital Nursing Staff, Adventa Hospice, Dr. Jan Tillman, Dr. 

Justin Digby, the Medicine Shoppe and the Carter County Rescue Squad. The 

family will receive friends at the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 

prior to the service hour. Friends may also call at the residence at anytime. 

Pallbearers, family and friends will assemble at the funeral chapel at 9:15 

a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Online condolences to the Tolley family
