Taylor 08/11/99 Kathryn T. "Katy" Taylor, 79, 1034 Sunvalley Circle, Greeneville, died Tuesday, August 10, 1999, at Takoma Adventist Hospital, Greeneville, following a brief illness. Ms. Taylor was a native of Carter County, having lived in Greeneville since 1992. She was the daughter of the late Sam Houston and Nora White Williams and was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Taylor Sr., a brother, Clifton Williams, and a sister, Mary Lee Williams. Ms. Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greeneville and a former member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher in the Carter County School System after 36 years of service. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Carl Vester Jr. and Irmgard Taylor, Greeneville; two grandchildren, Kathryn M. and David Taylor, both of Greeneville; three aunts, Dora and Verona White, both of Elizabethton, and Virginia White of Pennsylvania; and three very faithful friends, Zola Shankle and Margie Peters, both of Elizabethton, and Betty Bailey, Bluff City. Several cousins also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. TAYLOR -- Funeral services for Kathryn T. "Katy" Taylor, 79, 1034 Sunvalley Circle, Greeneville, who died Tuesday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Dr. Hollis Marshall and Rev. Homer Salyer officiating. Music will be under the direction of Douglas and Laurann Wiley. Graveside services and interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Granville Taylor, Carl H. Taylor, Andy White, Elwayne Williams, Jerry Weaver and Bobby Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be the teachers of the Carter County School System. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 211 N. Main Street, Greeneville, Tenn. 37745.
