Taylor Mrs. Zillah B. Taylor, 89, 2209 Hillrise Avenue, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at Pine Ridge Care Center. Mrs. Taylor was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Willie and Lizze Hammet Meredith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobert C. Taylor, in 1959, a sister, Sally Dossett, and two brothers, Ira and Elbert Meredith. Mrs. Taylor was a Charter Member and the Oldest Member of Gap Creek Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Bryan Burleson, Elizabethton; two sisters, Marie Jones, Kingsport, and Jeanette Gibson, Oak Ridge; three grandchildren, Richard C. Burleson, Keith Burleson and Cindy Robinson; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Meredith, Elizabethton. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. TAYLOR -- Funeral services for Mrs. Zillah B. Taylor, 89, 2209 Hillrise Avenue, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. David Slayton and Mr. Roy Hampton, ministers, officiating. Music will be provided by Bobby McGee. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, in the Taylor Cemetery, Bob Taylor Road, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, will be Anthony Lyons, Tony Meredith, Joe Taylor, Randy Gibson, Mike Jones and Mark Edens. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Gap Creek Christian Church, members of Buffalo Valley Christian Church and employees of Pine Ridge Care Center. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Bryan Burleson, 2209 Hillrise Avenue, Elizabethton. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Taylor to the Carter County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 776, Elizabethton, TN 37644 or to the Veteran's Memorial Fund, c/o City Finance Director, 136 S. Sycamore Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
