CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - C.E. Taylor, 23 Jun 2002 ----¤¤¤---- C.E. Taylor C.E. Taylor, 71, Sunrise Drive, Elizabethton, died Sunday, June 23, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Taylor was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Harrison and Edith Potter Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Nidiffer. Mr. Taylor was a retired construction worker and was also employed with Mapes Piano String Company. He was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Irene Oliver Taylor; a daughter and son-in-law, Jewel and Doug Graham, Elizabethton; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Wilma and Norman Anderson and Joyce and Bynum Whitehead, all of Elizabethton, and Roy Nidiffer, Hampton; two grandsons, Evan and Ryan Graham, Elizabethton; and a brother, Terry Taylor, Hampton. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. TAYLOR -- Funeral services for C.E. Taylor, 71, Sunrise Drive, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, June 23, 2002, were conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eric Eggers and the Rev. Burl Garland officiating. Music was provided by Kay Collins. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the Buckles Cemetery with the Rev. Tony Oliver officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, will be Mack Collins, Gerald Oliver, Larry Oliver, Jeff Herrmann, Joseph Oliver, Steve Oliver, Odell Oliver and Dwayne Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Lanny Oliver, Carroll Lewis, Eugene Bell, Harold Morrell, Albert Williams, Rick Arnold, A.J. Oliver, his special uncle, Carl Potter, and members of the Junior Adult Sunday School Class of Hunter First Baptist Church. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
