CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Lorraine P. Taylor, 8 Mar 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Lorraine P. Taylor Mrs. Lorraine P. Taylor, 80, Pine Ridge Care Center and formerly of Sunrise Drive, Elizabethton, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, in the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Taylor was a native of Carter County and was the daughter of the late John T. and Julia Taylor Proffitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady W. Taylor on June 8, 2002. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a member of the Stoney Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Inez and Gene Hampton, Stafford, Va., and Angela and Terry Wilson, Johnson City, Tenn.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Betty Taylor, Bluff City, and Gaylon and Susan Taylor, Laurel Bloomery, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, three sisters, Izetta Proffitt, Hildred Robinson and Barbara Bowers, all of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews. Music will be under the direction of Christina Lewis. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Stephen May and the nursing staff of Pine Ridge Care Center.
