Teague Mabel Lewis Teague, 88, 381 A.E. Miller Road, Roan Mountain, died Monday, June 12, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Teague was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Landon T. and Lena B. Smith Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Teague, three sisters, Nina Lewis, Virgie Groce and Lillie Groce, and a brother, Omer Lewis. Mrs. Teague was a member of Morgan's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and a former employee of Bemberg Industries. Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley and Gene Smith, Hampton, Sylvia and Elmer Galliher, Ft. Mill, S.C., Judith Propst, Johnson City, and Roberta "Bobbie" Herrin, Jonesborough; a son and daughter-in-law, Zane Allen and Peggy Teague, Elizabethton; two brothers, Freeman Lewis, Elizabethton, and Earl Lewis, Hampton; a sister, Mary Richesin, Elizabethton; four grandsons, Mike Smith, Hampton, Jeff Smith, Denver, Colo., Joe Smith, Johnson City, and Mitch Galliher, Ft. Mill, S.C.; two granddaughters, Sandra Teague Rudolph, Orlando, Fla., and Erica Galliher Dunbar, Ft. Mill, S.C.; and a great-grandson, Caleb Smith, Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Miller Road, Roan Mountain, who died Monday, June 12, 2000, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at Morgan's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Street and Rev. Tommy Haynes officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Judy Teague Ealey. Interment will follow in the Captain Nelson Cemetery, Ripshin Mountain. Pallbearers will be selected from grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Morgan's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Dr. David Kimmel, Dr. Alfred Earwood, Employees of Housecall Hospice, Nurses of Restorative Care at Cannon Memorial Hospital, Dean Smith, friends and neighbors of Ripshin Community. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, 381 A.E. Miller Road, Roan Mountain, any time.
