CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Grover Carroll Tester, 14 Dec 2003

Grover Carroll Tester, 78, Butler, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 in 
the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Rev. Earl and 
Mattie Andrews Tester.
Mr. Tester moved to Ohio in 1954. He retired in 1989 after 36 years 
of service as a gauge technician with Ford Motor Company of Cleveland, 
Ohio. 
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the European 
theater. He was a member of the VFW. 
Mr. Tester was a member of Elk River Baptist Church, Butler.
He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mattie Bunton Luther 
Tester; a daughter, Sandra A. Tester, and a sister, Mary Edith.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Smith Tester; two daughters and 
sons-in-law, Denise L. and Kevin Convery, of Parma, Ohio, and Renee G. 
and Steven Morton, of Grafton, Ohio; four sons and three daughters-in-
law, Frank C. and Joyce Tester, of Butler; Randolph E. and Su Tester, 
and Stephen N. Tester, all of Columbia Station, Ohio, and Richard M. 
and Carolyn Tester, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, and one brother, Harvey 
Tester, Elizabethton. Eleven grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2003 
in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Jones officiating. 
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral 
home. The body will be taken to the Baker Funeral Home, Berea, Ohio, 
where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2003 
with the burial in the Columbia Station Cemetery, Columbia Station, Ohio.
