Thompson 11/24/99 Mayme Carr Thompson, 90, formerly of 543 Austin Springs Road, Piney Flats, died Monday, November 22, 1999, at Asbury Center. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Carter County and moved to Piney Flats in 1947. She was a daughter of the late Dan and Harriet Booher Carr and was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Thompson, and two sisters. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a Charter Member of the Piney Flats Presbyterian Church, where she was actively involved in the Women of the Church and a member of Circle #1. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Hall, Piney Flats; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Clifford and Kim Jones Hall, Piney Flats; a great-grandson, Clinton Thomas Hall, Piney Flats; a great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Ann Hall, Piney Flats; a sister, Lou Howell, Elizabethton; two nieces, Mrs. Janice Price and Mrs. Anne Bender; and a nephew, Richard Thompson. THOMPSON -- Funeral services for Mayme Carr Thompson, 90, formerly of 543 Austin Springs Road, Piney Flats, who died Monday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Piney Flats Presbyterian Church with Dr. Christopher Meyer III and Rev. Mack Houston officiating. Interment will follow in the Shell Cemetery, Piney Flats. Active pallbearers will be Richard Thompson, Jason Thompson, Billy Joe Jacobs, Charles Ledford, Harold Plummer, T.J. Sparks, Roy Hall, John Hall and Charles Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy and Joan Robertson, Thad and Margaret Morris, Charmie White, Mary Frances White, Geraldine Torbett, Cal and Kay Heath, Helen Ledford, Gwen Plummer, Sandra Curd, Willie Feathers, Lucille Barnette, Allen and Nancy Torbett, Tom and Clara Persinger, Edna Jones, Richard and Betty Grindstaff, John and Mary Emma Martin, Ruth Trivett and the Fourth Floor Nursing Staff at Asbury Healthcare Center. For those who prefer, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Piney Flats Presbyterian Church, 6140 Highway 11E, Piney Flats, TN 37686.
