(Bobbie) Thomas, 85, NHC Nursing Home, Johnson City, formerly of Rt. 5, Johnson City, died Thursday, January 4, 2001, in the nursing home. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late W.H. and Jennie Linn Houston Cooper. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. June Smith of Bristol. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Ann Porter, Odessa, Tx.; one son, LTC William S. Thomas III, Johnson City; one sister, Mildred Hegler, Johnson City; one brother, Grover (Bud) Cooper, Johnson City; two grandchildren, Tommy Porter, Key West, Fla., and Tammie Porter, Glendale, Calif.; two great grandsons, Steven and Mike Porter, Dallas, Tx. Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, is in charge of arrangements. THOMAS - Memorial services for Mary C. (Bobbie) Thomas, 85, NHC Nursing Home, Johnson City, who died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Mausolem of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Inurnment will be in the Mausoleum of Peace. Dr. John F. Martin, Minister of First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. Friends may call at the residence of her son, LTC William S. Thomas III, 3300 Victoria Court, Johnson City. Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, is in charge.
