Timbs 4/14/00 Emma Elizabeth Brewer Timbs, 94, 236 Holston Mountain Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at the home of her son, Harold Timbs. Mrs. Timbs was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Wesley and Bell Lothrey Brewer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Timbs, September 8, 1991, two sons, Brady and Roy Haskel Timbs, and a daughter, Marie Timbs Thompson. Mrs. Timbs was a member of Borderview Christian Church since 1945. She was a homemaker and mother of 15 children. Survivors include nine daughters and seven sons-in-law, Wanda Pickering, Mt. Dora, Fla., Dawn and Richard Grubbs, Hillsdale, Mich., Jean and Joe Garrett, Abingdon, Va., Anna and William Bare and Sue and David Shmidt, all of Bluff City, Retha and George Williams, Hampton, Evelyn Helton, Thelma and Vaughn Taylor and Janice and Larry Stanbery, all of Elizabethton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Houston and Betty Timbs, Claude Harold and Eva Timbs and Robert and Peggy Timbs, all of Elizabethton; a sister, Maudie Potter, Elizabethton; and a daughter-in-law, Nola Timbs, Elizabethton. Thirty-five grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, all special friends at Borderview Christian Church, and other special friends also survive. Music will be under the direction of Scott Reynolds and Lisa McGinnis. Interment will follow at Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from the Elders and Deacons of Borderview Christian Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Borderview Christian Church, special friends, Wesley and Mary Thornton, friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel. Friends may also call at the residence, 236 Holston Mountain Road, Elizabethton, or at the residence of her son, Claude Harold Timbs, 223 Holston Mountain Road, Elizabethton, any time.
