Quillen V.A. Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late John and Ina Nidiffer Treadway. Mr. Treadway was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. He was a member of Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Helen Treadway, of the home; five daughters: Brenda Adams, of the home; Doris Treadway, Teresa Ballard, and Penny Sams, all of Elizabethton; and Cathy Sams Kent, Telford; two sons: Larry Joe Treadway, Johnson City; and Tom Treadway, Milligan; five sisters: Alta Treadway, Virginia Shipley, and Louise Treadway, Johnson City; Helen Thomas, Ivy Hall, Elizabethton; and Faye Norris, Elizabethton. Twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. TREADWAY -- Funeral services for Guy Treadway, 75, 502 Bradley Street, Elizabethton, who died Friday, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 1999, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Russell and the Rev. Carl Grindstaff and the Rev. Jerry Emert officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 7, 1999, at V.A. Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be doctors and nurses, MICU and staff of V.A. Hospital, S & S Ambulance Service, Bill Kinchlowe, Gary Thomas, Edward Thomas, Stewart Thomas, Jimmy Taylor, Johnny Sams, Ronald Kent, Ray Ballard, Mickey Campbell, Jimmy Reece, Roy Schimmel, and Brandon Taylor. Everyone will meet at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Tetrick Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, or at the residence any time.
