Jarvis Treadway 2/09/00 Elijah Jarvis Treadway, 93, Four Oaks Nursing Home, Jonesborough, formerly of 619 Old Embreeville Road, died Monday, February 7, 2000, at his residence. Mr. Treadway was a native of Carter County but had lived most of his life in Washington County. He was the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Treadway and was also preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Mae Hoss Treadway, in 1987, and by five sisters and four brothers. Mr. Treadway was a retired employee of the United States Post Office in Jonesborough, with 33 years of service, and was also a retired farmer. He was a member and former deacon of the Cherokee Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Dwight Moore Treadway and Herman T. Treadway, both of Jonesborough, and nine grandchildren. Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, 418 W. College Street, Jonesborough, (423) 753-0514, is in charge of arrangements. TREADWAY -- Funeral services for Elijah Jarvis Treadway, 93, Four Oaks Nursing Home, Jonesborough, formerly of 619 Old Embreeville Road, who died Monday, February 7, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Cambron officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 10, in the Cherokee Baptist Cemetery, Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be Richard Hoss, Steve Treadway, George Campbell, Cecil Knowles, Harvey Oxendine and Doran Brookshire. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, 418 W. College Street, Jonesborough, is in charge of arrangements.
