CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - ----¤¤¤---- Chauncey B. Trivett Chauncey B. (C.B.) Trivett, 90, N. Boone Street, Johnson City, formerly of Ontario Drive, Elizabethton, died at the Asbury Center on Monday, December 15, 2003. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Eli and Bertha Brumit Trivett. Mr. Trivett was retired from the military as a Chief Master Sargeant with the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of service. He served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Mr. Trivett was a member, former deacon and choir member of the Grace Baptist Church, Elizabethton. He was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238. Mr. Trivett was preceded in death by two wives, Orlia Trivett and Ilene Campbell Trivett; one brother, Elbert Trivett and four sisters, Nell Melenson, Ethel Trivett, Maude Trivett and Ella Mae Gee. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Joe Mitchell, of Berlin, Md.; one brother, Eli Trivett, of Thompson, Ga.; three sisters, Frances Shelton, of Elizabethton; Margaret Smith, of Tampa, Fla., and Patsy Jo Yates, of Alexandria, Va. Three grandsons, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2003 in the Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Owens officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2003 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. The church choir will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 7:50 p.m. Thursday and also at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday will be Jim Childers, Harold Smith, Bobby Shelton, Timothy Messer, Scott Messer, Toby Messer, Dave Burleson and Joe Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be his church family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Grace Baptist Church. Military graveside honors will be provided by the Burial Detail from Shaw Air Force Base, Sumpter, S.C. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Condolences to the Trivett family may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
