CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Lou Collins VanHuss, 8 Oct 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Mrs. Lou Collins VanHuss, 101, Highway 19E, Elizabethton, formerly of H. Heaton Road, died Friday, October 8, 2004, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following a lengthy illness. Mrs. VanHuss was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late G.C. and Sallie Williams Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph VanHuss, and by one son, three brothers and five sisters. Mrs. VanHuss was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a member of Siam Baptist Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William and Jean Carpenter, Elizabethton; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great- great-grandchild; and a brother-in-law, Ed Strickland, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 10, in the Nave Cemetery, Siam Community, with Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Active pallbearers will be R.J. Lewis, Eddie Sams, Rick Barrie, Buck Gentry, Glen Hardin and Salvatore Sala. Those who wish to attend the graveside service will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
