Obituary appeared in the Friday, April 25, 1958 Elizabethton Star 

Mrs. Leona Vines, 65, of Route 2, Butler, died in the Memorial Hospital in
Johnson City, Thursday morning, following an illness of five years.  She was a
native of Watauga County, N.C., and a member of the Poga Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gene Hodge of the home; and Mrs. Jack
Dugger of Detroit, Michigan; four sons, Dewey Hicks of Chicago; Orville Hicks
of the home; John Hicks of Detroit, Michigan, and Ernest Vines of Detroit,
Michigan; eleven grandchildren; three brothers, Ben Ward of Beech Creek, NC.;
Roby Ward of Route 2, Butler, and Roosevelt Presnell of Avery, N.C.  Four
sisters, Mrs. Berthe Presnedd and Mrs. Matilda Presnell of Sugar Grove, N.C.;
Mrs. Hattie Belle Guy of Heaton, N.C., and Mrs. Troy Ward of Whaley, S.C.
Tetrick Funeral Homes is in charge of funeral arrangements.
