CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Beulah Mae Von Cannon, 5 April 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Beulah Mae Von Cannon, 87, Taylortown Road, Johnson City, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Von Cannon was a native of Johnson County, but had lived in Carter County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Sam R. and Etta Gregg Bunton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Denver F. Von Cannon, October 15, 1996, and a daughter, Shirley Jean Smith. Mrs. Von Cannon was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church, but attended Watauga Point United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and former cast member of the Wataugans. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles D. and Shirley Von Cannon and Frank and Betty Von Cannon, all of Johnson City; one daughter, Alma Ruth Von Cannon, Elizabethton; one sister, Bonnie Campbell, Butler; and one brother, Dennis Bunton, Abingdon, Va. Seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Music will be under the direction of Beth Ann Henley, soloist. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, prior to the funeral service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Jon Shell, bagpiper. Active pallbearers will be David Carter, Jim Kerr, Robert Peets, Drew Kerr, Tony Jones and Tom Von Cannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Kenneth and Pearl Jones, Donnie Mays, Gordon Humphreys and Sara Sellers. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
