John H. Wallace 

John H. Wallace, 83, 104 W. Poplar Street, Johnson City (formerly of 804 Elm 

Street, Elizabethton), died Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at Johnson City Medical 

Center following an extended illness. 

Mr. Wallace was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Retta Williams. 

Mr. Wallace was a believer and free thinker. He served with the U.S. Navy 

during World War II and was a former employee of North American Rayon 

Corporation. He was a member of the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post No. 2166. 

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl McIntyre, Johnson City, and Cathy 

Robbins, Jonesborough; three grandchildren, Keith Hicks, Johnson City, Johnny 

Hicks and Sara Louise Smith, both of Knoxville; a great-grandson, Chase 

Wolverton, Knoxville; a brother, Raybon Wallace, a niece, Linda Oliver, and a 

nephew, Gary Wallace, all of Elizabethton. 

The funeral service for Mr. Wallace will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, 

November 18, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell 

Holly officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by his daughter, Cheryl 

McIntyre. Interment will follow the service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. 

Military Honors will be provided by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post No. 

2166. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family 

will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 17, at the funeral
