Ernie Williams 





    Ernie Williams, 70, 240 Old Possum Hollow Road, Elizabethton, passed away 

on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a 

lengthy illness. 





    A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Andy and Emma 

Williams. 





    Mr. Williams was retired from East Tennessee Chair Company. 





    In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his 

brothers, D.C. Williams and an infant brother, and two sisters, Jane Perry and 

Goldie Williams. 





    Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Nidiffer Williams, of the home; a son, 

Hank Williams of Elizabethton; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Albert 

Gardner of Elizabethton; a special granddaughter, Emily Gardner of 

Elizabethton; two sisters, Pauline Oliver and Ida Smith, both of Elizabethton; 

and a brother, Preston Williams, Hermitage Health Center. 





    The graveside service for Mr. Williams will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. 

Friday, January 19, at Buckles Cemetery in the Stoney Creek Community with 

Pastor Howard Messer officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from 

family and friends. The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home, 

Elizabethton, from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service. Friends may 

also call at the hone of his daughter, Julie Gardner, 912F Pine Ridge Circle, 

Elizabethton. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations 

to the East Side Freewill Baptist Church Missions Fund, 704 Siam Road, 

Elizabethton, TN 37643. Condolences may be sent to the family online at
