Luther Woodby 

Luther Woodby, 83, 1101 Persimmon Ridge Road, Jonesborough, died Tuesday, 

October 18, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center. 

Mr. Woodby was a native of Carter County, having spent his later years in 

Unicoi County. He was the son of the late Camron and Jane Carver Woodby. In 

addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three 

sisters. 

Mr. Woodby was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a 

self-employed logger and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. 

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The funeral service for Mr. Woodby will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 

from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Franklin officiating. The 

family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. Thursday at the funeral home. The 

committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 21, in the Arthur 

Woodby Cemetery, Limestone Cove Community. The family, minister and friends are 

requested to assemble at the cemetery by 9:50 a.m. Friday. Condolences may be
