Wandell Mrs. Mildred Nave Wandell, 79, 425 West "G" Street, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, November 15, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Wandell was a native of Carter County (Old Butler) and the daughter of the late Isaac and Cora White Nave. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Richard Scruggs and Wesley Wandell, a son, Barry Anthony Scruggs, and by five brothers and one twin sister. Mrs. Wandell was a former employee of A.R. Brown of Erwin. She was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Patrick and Carol Cole Scruggs, Elizabethton; a sister, Mary Nave Presnell, Elizabethton; one aunt, Mae Hodge, Elizabethton; a special cousin, D.W. White, Johnson City; and a special friend, Bonnell Estep, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. These services entrusted to Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. www. Tommy Haynes officiating. Music will be by Jerry Barnett, soloist. It was Mrs. Wandell's wishes that her body be donated to the Anatomy Department, East Tennessee State University.
