Ward 08/16/99 Mrs. Evenell B. "Nell" Ward, 83, 122 Honeycutt Street, Elizabethton, died Sunday, August 15, 1999, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Ward was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Charlie and Dora Hayes Birchfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Dave Ward, January 4, 1968, a son, Ivan Ott Ward, October 21, 1988, a step-daughter, Ethel Ward, and a step-son, Lloyd Ward. Mrs. Ward was a homemaker and a member of Centerview Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Wayne David Ward, of the home; a step-daughter, Louella Arnold, Jonesborough; a sister, Gladys Birchfield, Elizabethton; two brothers, Luther Birchfield and Ray Birchfield, both of Elizabethton; three step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Crystal Cordell, Elizabethton. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. WARD -- Funeral services for Mrs. Evenell B. "Nell" Ward, 83, 122 Honeycutt Street, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Mr. David Irick, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Centerview Church of Christ Singers. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Walnut Mountain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors, the men of Centerview Church of Christ and the doctors and nursing staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and the ICU Department. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, 122 Honeycutt Street, Elizabethton, any time. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
