Weaver James Grant Weaver, 81, 170 Rainbow Circle, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, from complications associated with old age. Mr. Weaver was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John and Eliza Jane Williams Weaver. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Braswell Weaver, June 3, 1995, a sister, Hallie Weaver Hardin, and a brother, Herman Weaver. Mr. Weaver was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation with 46 years of service, and also worked nine years for the U.S. Forest Service. He was a member and deacon of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry C. Weaver, with whom he made his home, and Ted and Janet Weaver, all of Elizabethton; two sisters, Nora Hurley and Pauline Buckles, both of Elizabethton; two grandsons, Ryan Weaver and Trever Weaver; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Weaver and Katlyn Rose Weaver. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. WEAVER -- Funeral services for James Grant Weaver, 81, 170 Rainbow Circle, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Hawk and Dr. William Duncan officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors conducted by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, will be Ryan Weaver, Trever Weaver, Dean Robinson, Clyde Buckles, Raymond Lowe, Eugene Buckles, Jason Rhea and Andy Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be D.E. McNeely, Dana Dykes, Bill Harrison and the deacons of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a son and daughter-in- law, Ted and Janet Weaver, 180 Rainbow Circle, Elizabethton.
