CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mildred C. Welch, 30 Oct 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Mildred C. Welch Mrs. Mildred C. Welch, age 82, of East H Street, Elizabethton, left to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 30, 2003, at her residence. Mrs. Welch was a native of Linville, N.C., and had lived in Elizabethton for the past 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Grover and Ethel Blalock Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Welch; by one brother, G. C. Miller and by one sister, Margaret White. She was a lifetime member of the First Church Of The Nazarene. Survivors include three sons and three daughters-in-law, Richard and Claudia Welch, of Hendersonville, Tenn., David and Karyn Welch, of Elizabethton, and Ronnie and Beth Welch, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Edward Mottern, of Kodak, Tenn.; two sisters, Frances Nidiffer, Johnson City, and Louise Smith, Bluff City; two brothers, Bobby Miller, of Ohio, and Jackie Miller, of Florida; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Mrs. Mildred C. Welch, age 82, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2003, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway- Percy Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Pierce and the Rev. Dr. Charles Knight officiating. Music will be under the direction of Claudia Welch. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2003, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Richard Welch, Ronnie Welch, David Welch, Elliott Welch, Chris Welch, Gary White, Jackie Miller, Jackie Miller, Jr. and Jordan Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Daniel Paul, Dr. Scott Caudle and employees of Adventa Hospice. Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Welch to The First Church Of The Nazarene, Building Fund, 200 West I Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call at the residence, 429 East H Street, Elizabethton, at any time.
