White 06/02/99 Charles T. White, 71, 2620 Highway 91, Elizabethton, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. White was a native of Carter County and a son of the late William and Flora Rains White. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Terry White, James White and Dewey Hardin. Mr. White had lived most of his life in Austin, Texas. He was retired from U.S. Steel and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bess and Guy Meyers and Ann and Tom Price, all of Elizabethton, and a brother and sister-in- law, T.A. and Gryce White, Bristol, R.I. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. WHITE -- Graveside services and interment for Charles T. White, 71, 2620 Highway 91, Elizabethton, who died Monday, will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Brian Wilson officiating. VFW Post #2166 will provide Military Graveside Honors. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, will be Bill Pack, Brian Mock, Willie Church, Dennis Ornduff and Bill Rollinson. A special "Thank You" to the Hospice employees of Johnson City Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
