CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Nathan Eugene "Gene" White, 12 Aug 1992 ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in the Thursday, August 13, 1992 Elizabethton Star Nathan Eugene "Gene" White, 60, John Glover Road, Rt. 2, Hampton, died Wednesday, August 12, 1992, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center Hospital, Mountain Home, after a brief illness. Mr. White was a native of Turrell, Ark., and a son of the late Robert Lee and Nettie Weston White. He had lived in Indiana from 1952 until 1982 and had lived in Carter County for the past ten years. Mr. White was an employee of TPI Corporation, Johnson City, and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church. Mr. White was preceded in death by a brother, G.R. White. Survivors include his wife, Gail Peters White; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Wanda J.) Knight, and Joy L. White, both of Nashville; a son Nathan Allen White of Greeneville; four sisters, Mrs Inez Chappell of Tyronza, Ark., Mrs. Martha Greer of Earl, Ark., Mrs. Faye Hooker of Turrell, Ark., and Pat White of Elkhart, Ind.; three brothers, Edwin White of Jonesboro, Ark., Earl White of Earl, Ark., and Vernon White of Mississippi; and two grandchildren, Jamie White and Brandy Patterson. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Funeral services for Nathan Eugene "Gene" White, 60, John Glover road, Rt. 2, Hampton, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday from the Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Burgess Vincent officiating. Ralph Moore, soloist, will be in charge of music. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, will be Eddie Young, Bill Estep, Buster Hinkle, Lon Holden, Steve Peters and Jerry Knight. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of Mike Peters, John Glover Road, at any time. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Saturday.
