CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Gladiola E. White, 9 Jun 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Gladiola E. White Gladiola E. White, age 82, West Doe Avenue, Elizabethton, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at Hillview Health Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Will and Josie Lewis Nidiffer. She was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church and was a former cashier at Kroger, White's, Publix, A&P, and Wright's grocery stores. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garrett W. White, on December 2, 1945; a daughter, Lois Kay White; two brothers, R.L. Nidiffer, Melvin G. Nidiffer, and a sister, Viola Oliver. Survivors include a daughter, Sue White, Elizabethton; a grandson and spouse, Joe and Jennifer White, Elizabethton; a great granddaughter, Cara Emily White, Elizabethton; a special nephew, Gene Oliver, Elizabethton, and a special friend, Nancy Jenkins, Elizabethton. Several other nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, is in charge of arrangements. WHITE -- The graveside service and interment for Gladiola E. White, 82, West Doe Avenue, Elizabethton, who died Monday, June 9, 2003, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Oliver, Glen White, Eddie Bledsoe, Bill Bunton, Gene Oliver, Johnny Lewis, Carson Puckett, Allen Goodwin, Glenn Allred, Ronnie Dugger, Jerry Harper, Mike Nidiffer, David Bunton, Jim Gouge, Greg Nidiffer, Ralph Hampton, Curtis Buckles, Kent Buckles, Lawrence Pierce, Dr. Stanley Vermillion, Richard Tester, Ralph Williams, Bill Shanks, Vester Taylor, Alf Campbell, Buster Arnold, Rev. Jim Hawk, Rev. Doug Hardin, Jim Brogdon and Cecil Eggers. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, June 12, for the graveside service.
