CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Jessie Pearman White, 13 Oct 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Jessie Pearman White, 90, Elizabethton Highway, Johnson City, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004 in the North Side Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Wythe County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Robert Emmett and Laura Kemp Pearman. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School where she was a member of the 1930-1931 Betsy Flashers Basketball Team. She also served as a cheerleader. Mrs. White was a retired employee of the Elizabethton Electric System where she was employed for 38 years. She was a member of the Watauga Point United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Elizabethton Women's Club and a past member of the Elizabethton Business and Professional Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe M. Brooks; her second husband, Noble R. White; one step-daughter, Loraine Katsis; four sisters; one brother and a half sister. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Gary A. Campbell, Elizabethton; a grandson, Jonathan Campbell, and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2004 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Margaret Owens-yates and Rev. Mack Houston officiating. Burial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2004 in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Rosemary Meredith, organist, will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, will be Jonathan Campbell, Gary Campbell, Ed Alexander III, Robert Strickland, Isaiah Broome, John Pilkton and Kenneth Nave. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family, Max Taylor, Shannon Long, Tim Street, John R. Campbell and Randy Campbell. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to the nurses of the 2400 Wing, Johnson City Medical Center and the 600 Wing of North Side Hospital and Dr. Denise Sibley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
