Grace H. Whitehead

Grace Hazelwood Whitehead, 74, Dave Simerly Road, Hampton, died Saturday, 
March 27, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Whitehead was a native of Carter County. She was preceded in death by a 
brother, Johnny Hazelwood, and her mother, Mayme Whitehead.
Mrs. Whitehead was retired from the Carter County School System. She was a 
member of Sunset Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Whitehead; a daughter, Shannon Whitehead, Elizabethton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Susan Whitehead, 
Elizabethton, and Tony and Jodie Whitehead, Homosassa, Fla.; her grandchildren, 
Cheri and John Clavier and Ben J. Whitehead, all of Elizabethton, Brent 
Whitehead, Jason Worsham, Taryn Allen, Douglas Shumate, Lauren Shumate and 
Mathew Whitehead, all of Florida; her great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Allen 
of Florida and Baby Clavier, Elizabethton; a sister, Ann Stepp, Hampton; 
several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ann Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, March 29, at Memorial 
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Whitehead and the Rev. Sam Ferguson 
officiating. Music will be provided by No Name But His. Graveside services 
and interment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, in the Whitehead Cemetery. 
Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 
1:15 p.m. Tuesday, will be Arnold Hughes, John Clavier, Ben J. Whitehead, 
John Julian, Stacy Archer, Brent Whitehead, Charles Dudley Ingram, James 
Loveland and Clarence Garland. Honorary pallbearers will be her church 
family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the 
funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends 
will assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net. Memorial Funeral Chapel
