CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ida Florence Hill Whittemore, 6 Aug 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Mrs. Ida Florence Hill Whittemore, West "H" Street, Elizabethton, died Friday, August 6, 2004, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Whittemore was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late James and Texie Anna Stevens Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman P. "Pet" Whittemore, and by five brothers, four sisters and a grandson. Mrs. Whittemore was of the Church of God faith and attended the Elizabethton Alliance Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and John B. Seehorn, Rocky Face, Ga., and Phyllis and T.J. Hale, Elizabethton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Louis and Donna Whittemore, Elizabethton, and Benny Whittemore, Johnson City; five grandchildren, Joni Seehorn Trobich, Charlotte, N.C., John Seehorn, Dalton, Ga., Holli Hale Fair, Louis Whittemore Jr. and Benji Whittemore, all of Elizabethton; six great- grandchildren, Alex, Brady, Carson, Jessica, Michael and Haley; four sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hill, Johnson City, Gretchen Whittemore, Elizabethton, Emma Hill, Taylorsville, N.C., and Jackie Hill, Elizabethton; and her friend and caregiver for the past two years, Judy Rowland. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, August 9, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Golden and Pastor Louie O'Bourke officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be John Seehorn, Louis Whittemore, Benji Whittemore, Sean Fair, Robert Trobich and Dewey Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Elizabeth James, Dr. Todd Whittaker and special neighbors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday or at the residence, 217 West "H" Street, Elizabethton, at any time.
