Ida H. Whitson

   Ida Hodge Whitson, 70, 139 Mill Pond Road, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.
   Mrs. Whitson was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Hence and Myra Barnett Hodge. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rabe Whitson, two daughters, Penny Whitson and Kathy Whitson, an infant son, a brother, Robert Hodge, and a sister, Ruby Coleman.
   Mrs. Whitson attended Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church. She was a 
homemaker.
   Survivors include four daughters, Connie Stevens, Hampton, Judy Hodges, 
Peggy Hamby and Tina Whitson, all of Elizabethton; three sons, Robert 
Whitson, Roger Whitson and Gary Whitson, all of Elizabethton; 13 
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three half-
sisters, Mary Lou Bradley, Johnson City, Winnie Smith, Sinking Creek, and 
Verdie Elliott, Elizabethton; a niece, Barbara Hilton, Elizabethton; and a 
nephew, Lester Coleman, Elizabethton.

   WHITSON -- Funeral services for Ida Hodge Whitson, 70, 139 Mill Pond Road,
 Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, will be conducted at 2 p.m. 
Saturday, June 9, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. 
Johnny Hilton and the Rev. Dale Greenwell officiating. Interment will follow 
the funeral service at the family cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Billy 
Hilton, Bobby Joe Hilton, Matthew Hilton, Adam Williams, Dwayne Williams, 
Brian King, Doug Coleman and Steve Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be the 
ICU Staff of Johnson City Medical Center Hospital; special thanks to Dr. 
Haley and Staff. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at 
the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, 139 Mill Pond Road,
