Willis 10/13/99 Mrs. Pauline Merritt Willis, 84, 116 Echo Drive, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, October 12, 1999, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Mrs. Willis was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late John "Tiger" and Emma Fair Merritt. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Willis was a 1932 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was a member of East River Park Christian Church and a Charter Member of the Rainbow Class. Survivors include three sisters, Mary Lee Buck and Frances Hale, both of Elizabethton, and Daisy Cohen, Fremont, Calif. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. WILLIS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Merritt Willis, 84, 116 Echo Drive, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Joel Stauffer, minister, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, will be MacDonald Merritt, Kenneth R. Nave, Randy Merritt, David Buck Jr., Gilbert Ornduff and John Rominger. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a sister, Mary Lee Buck, 401 S. Main Street, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
