Wilson Doyle D. Wilson, 73, 1100 Broad Street, Elizabethton, died Friday, November 10, 2000, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital, Mountain Home, following a brief illness. Mr. Wilson was a native of Carter County, Shell Creek Community, and the son of the late Jack W. Sr. and Joda Johnson Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Louise Stout Wilson, February 4, 1990, and a brother, Verl Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where he served as trustee and a deacon. He was also a former treasurer of the church. He was a retired car salesman and former co-owner and operator of Wilson Auto Sales. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Tanya and Mark Johnson, Johnson City, and Karen Jenkins, Elizabethton; a sister and brother-in-law, Celeste and Roy Day, Catlett, Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Juanita Wilson and Powell and Cindy Wilson, all of Elizabethton; a sister-in-law, Meria Wilson Emoto, Henderson, Nev.; and three grandchildren, Abbie Jenkins and Nickolas Jenkins, both of Elizabethton, and Alec Johnson, Johnson City. Wilson, 73, 1100 Broad Street, Elizabethton, who died Friday, November 10, 2000, will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 12, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Owens officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jon Cardwell. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 13, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Paul Senter, Harol Smith, Jim Childers, Gerald Jenkins, Frank Mustard and Jeff Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Presnell, Terry Holly, Worley Stout and the deacons and trustees of Grace Baptist Church. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, 1100 Broad Street, Elizabethton, at any time.
