Wilson, 74, 2723 S. Roan Street, Mayflower Apartments, Johnson City, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Wilson was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Carrick and Laura Ethel Wilson Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Ed Wilson, in 1990, a son, Gary Edward Wilson, and a sister, Lucy Whitehead. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Wes Tester, Roanoke, Va., and Rita and Benny Stoots, Jonesborough; a son and daughter-in- law, Roger and Shelia Wilson, Greeneville; a brother, Warren Johnson, Waldron, Ind.; three sisters, Edith Smith and Nell Alexander, both of Napoleon, Ind., and Irene Shell, Roan Mountain; and a daughter-in-law, Sue Wilson, Greeneville. Nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Roan Street, Mayflower Apartments, Johnson City, who died Wednesday, January 10, 2001, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 13, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Willie Lunsford and the Rev. Phil Gass officiating. Interment will follow the service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be nephews: Denny Johnson, Terry Johnson, Bob Alexander, Rick Smith, Mike Smith, Johnny Bennett, Tony Bennett, Freddie Montgomery, Ricky Montgomery and Randy Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hill, Carroll Hill and Don Hill. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Rita Stoots, 2666 Hwy. 81 South, Jonesborough, at any time.
