Mr. Winters was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Mark and Mary Pittman Winters. He was also preceded in death by a son, John Mark Winters, and a daughter, Jeanette Winters. Mr. Winters was a member of Faith Church in Jesus Name, Kingsport. He was a retired employee of the Kingsport Mall. Survivors include a sister, Texie Johnson, Roan Mountain, and three brothers, Dave Winters, Cleveland, Ohio, Roosevelt Winters, Kingsport, and Monroe Winters, Fall Branch. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, is in charge of arrangements. WINTERS -- Funeral services for Earnest Winters, 63, 818 Maple Oak Street, Kingsport, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with Pastor Johnny Persinger and Pastor Arthur Franklin officiating. Music will be under the direction of Gin and Bruce Buckles and Ron Johnson. Graveside services and interment will follow at Johnson-Roan View Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Wagner, Sidney Winters, Rodney Houseright and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Rhododendron Chapel. Friends may also call at the residence of his sister, Texie Johnson, Roan Mountain, any time. Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, is in charge of arrangements.
