Lynn Avenue, Apt. #9, Elizabethton, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Winters was a native of Carter County and the son of the late William and Bessie Winters. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Steve Winters, Dayton Winters and L.E. Winters, and two sisters, Mae Stafford and Oma Cannon. Mr. Winters was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church and a retired employee of Inland Container Corporation. Survivors include a son, Bobby Winters, Elizabethton; a daughter, Marie Wilson, Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Berley Clemons, Elizabethton, and Rebecca Parlier, Montezuma, N.C.; and two brothers, Jess Winters and Hansel Winters, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. WINTERS -- Funeral services for Burnette "Bud" Winters, 68, 327 S. Lynn Avenue, Apt. #9, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, were conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the V.A. National Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 12:55 p.m. Monday for the graveside service. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
