Williams Estel Fonce Williams, 83, 299 Blue Springs Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, October 13, 2001, at Hermitage Health Care Center following an extended illness. Mr. Williams was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Samuel Webb and Lorina Vanderventer Williams. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and two infant sons. Mr. Williams was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church and a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 48 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Hazel C. Williams, of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry P. and Carol Williams, Elizabethton, and Estel F. and Patty Williams, Unicoi; and a sister, Pauline Boyd, Elizabethton. W.D. Garman and the Rev. Joe Manis officiating. Music will be under the direction of Joel Street and Bobby Heaton. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, at Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be George Campbell, Charlie Campbell, Bob Campbell, Paul Boyd, Hobie Hyder, Jim Campbell, Bill Campbell, Hugh Buckles, John Campbell and Sam Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Campbell, Lockett Campbell, Cecil Davidson, Earl Collins, Jerry Bowers, Bill Cline, Dan Holder, D.J. Townsend, Jack Perkins, Lynn Rash, Jim Boone and a special thanks to the staff of Center on Aging and Health in Erwin and Hermitage Health Care Center. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence at any time.
