CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Flossie Rio Williams, 8 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Flossie R. Williams Flossie Rio Williams, 98, formerly of 215 Pierce Street, Elizabethton, died Monday, December 8, 2003, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Mrs. Williams was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late A.B. and Loretta Frazier Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Williams Sr., a son, Clyde Williams Jr., and an infant son, Lloyd Edward Williams. Mrs. Williams was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Elizabethton and was a retired school teacher after 44 years of service. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Katie Williams and Gary and Sylvia Williams, all of Elizabethton; a daughter, Nona Sue Williams, North Miami Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Violet Branch, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Orville Stokes officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 11, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Clyde Williams III, Jeffery Williams, Leonard Lewis, Norman Gouge, Willard Bowers and Vaughn Brockwell. Honorary pallbearers will be former teachers, friends and neighbors. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit at the home of a son, Kenneth Williams, 209 Pierce Street, Elizabethton, any time.
