Mr. Woodby was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John and Catherine Sneed Woodby. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Una Belle Loveless Woodby, in 1985, a son, Kenneth Delane Woodby, and by a brother and four sisters. Mr. Woodby was a former employee of American Bemberg Corporation and a member of Zion Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Ricky Woodby Sr., of the home; a brother, Hacker Woodby, Oak Ridge; and three grandchildren, Ricky Woodby Jr., Jonesborough, Danielle Hurt and Brandon Woodby, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. C.W. Snodgrass and the Rev. Harold Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Loveless and Woodby Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be Zane Loveless, Mike Loveless, Joey Loveless, Ray Loveless, Steve Hyder and Tommy Loveless. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Zion Baptist Church and Chad Lane, Larry Lane, Richard Loveless, Kyle Loveless, Brady Loveless and Randall Babb. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence at any time.
