CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Flossie Mae Woodson, 10 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Flossie Mae Woodson, age 85, 219 Whittemore Road, Hampton, died Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Lakebridge Health Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Asa L. and Judy Willis Cornett. She was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Woodson was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence E. Cornett and a brother, Lawrence H. Cornett. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Penny and Patsy Woodson, Hampton; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Roger Whitehead, Roan Mountain.; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Cornett, Hampton, and a sister- in-law, Nettie Cornett, Hampton. Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Dexter Brummett and Rev. L.D. Berry officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Cornett and Tolley Cemetery, Simerly Creek Community, Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be Billy Joe Carver, Bobby Bentley, Travis Harrel, Larry Whitehead, Gary Whittemore, Brian Davis, Kirt Davis, Larry Tolley and Jonathan Simerly. Honorary pallbearers will be Carol Tolley, Henry Berry and Pat Scalf. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel, or friends may call at the residence of a daughter, Phyllis Whitehead, 283 Whitehead Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, any time.
