CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Gladys Grindstaff Worley, 5 Oct 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Gladys G. Worley Mrs. Gladys Grindstaff Worley, 80, McKeehan Ridge Road, Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord and her husband on Sunday, October 5, 2003 at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Dave and Ellen Woodby Grindstaff. Mrs. Worley was employed at the American Bemberg Corporation for 33 years. She attended King Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Worley was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Worley, on June 29, 2003 and by eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Norman Chesser, Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Anita Worley, of Johnson City; a sister and brother-in-law, Lissie and F.A. Cozad, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Kenneth R. Worley, Jr., Phillip Andrew Worley, Samuel James Worley II, Gabrielle Nicole Burress, Jennifer Turnage and Norman F. Chesser, Jr., and six great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Gladys Worley will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Cornett, Rev. Scott Hayes and Rev. Palmer Jones officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2003 in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Bobby Tipton and Bud Taylor will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday will be Samuel James Worley II, Phillip Andrew Worley, Kenneth R. Worley, Jr., Norman F. Chesser, Jr., Alan Burress and John Tipton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
