Waycaster Mrs. Mary L. Waycaster, 89, 205 Bear Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, November 9, 2000, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Waycaster was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Joseph and Maggie Fair Shull. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Ernest Waycaster, in 1994, a daughter, Hazel W. Davenport, in 2000, and by four brothers and a great-granddaughter. Mrs. Waycaster was a homemaker and was of the Church of God Faith. Survivors include a daughter, Ruby McClain, Cocoa, Fla.; three sons, Ralph H. Waycaster and Bill J. Waycaster, both of Elizabethton, and Steve Waycaster, Johnson City; and a sister, Dorothy Reeves, Bristol. Nineteen grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Waycaster, 89, 205 Bear Hollow Road, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, November 9, 2000, were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 11, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with the Rev. Sherrel Nave and the Rev. Garry Edwards officiating. Music was under the direction of David Arney. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 12, in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Shane Gouge, Rocky Davenport, Phil Shull, James Shull, Chris Snyder and Mitchell Waycaster. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Alfred Earwood and Staff. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Sunday. The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence at any time.
