Henry G. Yates 


    Henry Garmon Yates, 73, 151 Jack Bradley Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, 
May 19, 2008, at Johnson City Medical Center. 


    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Ira and Thelma Caraway 
Yates. 


    Mr. Yates was a retired millright mechanic. He was of the Protestant 
faith. 


    Survivors include his wife, Alice Robbins Yates; two daughters, Vicki 
Strisko, Hammond, Ind., and Phyllis McCoy, Rockford, Ill.; three 
stepdaughters, Rhonda Fair Hammitt, Pamela Murphy and Patricia McEwen, all of 
Elizabethton; a stepson, Michael Erb, Euporia, Kan.; a brother, Kelly Yates, 
Elizabethton; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and two nephews, 
David Yates and Greg Yates. 


    It was Mr. Yates wish to be cremated and no formal services are planned.
