Edith Young

   WEAVERVILLE, N.C. -- Edith "Sally" Hyder Young, 85, 23 Hamburg 
Mountain Road, died Friday, February 19, 1999.
   Mrs. Young was a native of Carter County, Tenn., and had been a 
resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. Sally was the 
daughter of the late Ora and Phobe Hyder and wife of the late William D. 
"Bill" Young, who died in 1993.
   Sally was a retired photographer and a member of First Presbyterian 
Church of Weaverville.
   Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Vera "Kit" Riley and 
Charles Riley, Weaverville; her grandchildren, Bill Riley, Sallye Fox 
and Kathryn Crawford; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Howard 
Hyder, Elizabethton, Tenn., and Sexton Hyder.
   Funeral services and interment will be held Monday in Weaverville.
   West Funeral Home, Weaverville, N.C., (828) 645-3011, is in charge of 
arrangements.
