Carter Co. TN Will Book Vol. 2, Page 17 – 18  Monday, October Term 1851

	Then hear the Last Will and Testament of Eliza Drake Deceased 

exhibited and & proven in open Court by Thomas P. Ensor and Hannah Ensor the 

subscribing witness is hereto  

					(The Will)

	The Last Will and Testament of Eliza Drake 

		In the name of almighty God Amen I Eliza Drake of Sound mind 

and memory, but very feeble in body, make and publish this my Last Will and 

Testament.

	1st I will and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah and my Son Samuel equally 

a note I hold on Chrisley Basher, dated 3d Sept 1851 and sworn one day after 

for the sum of Found hundred and forty eight dollars Twenty two cents.

	2d  I will and bequeath to my Daughter Margaret K. Powell one note on 

David L. Stover for fifty dollars, sworn 12 months after and dated 23d June 

1851 also one note on Henery Basher and Chrisly Basher for fifty dollars and 

sworn one day after date and dated 12th day of August 1847 with a credit of 

Ten dollars on the 21st April 1851 also one note on Thomas J. Powell for forty 

three dollars and twenty five cents on 29th April 1846.

	3d  I will and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah, my Bay horse (Oakly).

	4th  I will and bequeath to my Son Samuel my Mare (Kit) & colt. 

	5th  I will & Bequeath my Daughter Sarah two Feather Beds, with two 

sheets & other Bed clothes to each Bed and to my Son Samuel one Feather Bed & 

Bedding and one Found Bed & Bedding, that is to say Two counter pins and pair 

sheets, and to my Daughter Sarah my Side Board and to my Son Samuel my 

Beaurough, my Looking Glass to Sarah.

	6th  I will and bequeath all my Stock such as hogs cattle &c to all 

three children to keep and use to live on, also all my wheat & oats and corn 

(now growing) to all my children Sarah, Samuel & Margaret for the support and 

use.

	7th  I will and bequeath my three horses not named above to my 

children, to be used for producing their support.

	8th  I will and bequeath all my other Loose property not above 

specified to all my children equally, and for it all to remain as it now is 

while they all live together.  I further Will and Bequeath to all my three 

children equally, all my part of the estate of my deceased Husband, whether in 

Land , negroes, or money.

	Given under my hand and seal this 11th Septr. AD 1851	Eliza Drake
