This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Erma Day ej3ed@skyenet.net ==================================================================== Richard Kite’s Will, 1810 Carter Co., TN Early Wills Book 1, p 720-721 In the name of God Amen, I Richard Kite of the County of Carter and State of Tennessee being sick and weak in Body but of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following; First recommend my soul to God who gave it and my Body to the Earth from whence it came to be Buried in a Christian like Burial; Touching such worldly Estate as it hath been pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give will and bequeath in the following manner, To wit….. First that all my Just Debts and funeral expenses first be paid …… Secondly I give will and bequeath unto my Dearly beloved wife Ellenor Kite all my plantation whereon I now life together with all my bedding draper household Furniture farming utensals also my stock of horses Cattle hogs and sheep during her Natural life, and after her Decease then I give will and bequeath same to my well beloved son Isaac Kite his Heirs and assigns forever….. Thirdly I give will and bequeath to my Dearly beloved wife Ellenor Kite one fourth part of the profits of my still, my still now in the possession of my son Isaac Kite, during her natural life and after Decease to my son Isaac Kite his Heirs and assigns forever……..
